ABIA BORN PHILANTHROPIST PARTNERS WITH NIMC TO ENROLL MEMBERS OF HIS COMMUNITY

Sir Emmanuel Mbaka, one of the greatest philanthropists of our time from Eluama autonomous community in Isuikwuato, Abia State has partnered with the State National Identity Management Commission to register members of his immediate community in order to obtain the now mandatory National Identification Number (NIN) and to be able to beat the deadline by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy directing members of the public to link their NIN to their SIM.

It is expected that at the end of the deadline, phone lines not linked will be demobilized.

Speaking to our reporter, a representative of Mbaka hinted that the exercise is targeted at the elderly, incapacitated, pregnant or nursing mothers and indigent ones who may not be able to stay long at the usual queues at the various NIMC offices. She however maintained that at the end of the two days exercise, almost every Eluama community member would have been captured particularly those in the aforementioned category so that they are not disenfranchised by being cut off the SIM platform and other benefit associated with the NIN.

A representative of the State NIMC who didn’t want to be quoted thanked the philanthropist immensely for having his people at heart by bringing the exercise to their door step and called upon other privileged indigenes of the state to emulate Sir Mbaka, as this is one of the best gift to community members especially with the SIM/NIN/link deadline.

He however advised that there is no deadline to the NIN like exam registration as there will be other need for the NIN like exam registration, obtaining international passport, driver license, and vehicle registration, government employment opportunities, pension administration exercise etc.

The exercise was held at the conference hall of the commonwealth resort between Saturday March 20th and Sunday March 21st witnessed great turn out on the first day with strict adherence to the covid protocols and orderly conduct of enrollees aided by the watchful eyes of Hon. Dimgba Samuel, the councilor for the community who stayed all through the first day.

Commonwealth Resort Limited and Emmanuel Mbaka Foundation, Eluama, Isuikwuato LGA Abia State, collaborates with National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in the enrollment and issuance of National E-card for indigenes of Eluama community and its environs. This is another bold and noble step taken by the organization towards ensuring the people of Eluama and environs are not left behind in the train of national development in Nigeria.

Kudos to the management of Commonwealth Resort Limited Eluama.

Second day of the registration

Commonwealth Resort Limited and Emmanuel Mbaka Foundation are poised to make a positive impact and contribute positively to the economic growth of the Eluama community and its environs. This is evident in their pledge on the two days collaboration with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to ensure that the people of Eluama and its environs are sensitized and educated on the National Identification Number (NIN) and also enrolled into the National identity Database.
